In the 1930's Charlie Chan was the star of a super-Sleuth detective show on the radio and television.  In his series, Charlie Chan's eldest and most trusted son, who often helped him solve the most complex problems and mysteries, was reffered to as his "Number One Son" 

Our founder is also an eldest and most trusted son.  His parents after watching Charlie Chan, began to call him their "Number One Son."  And whenever there were home maintenance repairs to be done around his household, he would always find his chore list posted on the refrigerator with the words "Number One Son" at the top of the list.
